Every Breath-Nicholas Sparks-⭐️⭐️⭐

I always feel the need to read all Nicholas Sparks books--I think it's because I read them all through high school and always felt like I needed to keep up with his releases. Now, I think I need to follow through with what I started.

I was not super impressed with this book by my pal Nick. While it wasn't BAD, it just wasn't my favorite.

Hope Anderson has some important choices to make. With no wedding plans in sight with a long-term boyfriend, and her father recently diagnosed with ALS, she decides to use a week at her family's cottage in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, to ready the house for sale and mull over some difficult decisions about her future.

Tru Walls has never visited North Carolina but is summoned to Sunset Beach by a letter from a man claiming to be his father. Tru is out to solve some of the mysteries surrounding his mother's early life and recapture memories lost with her death.

In typical Sparks fashion, when the two strangers cross paths, their connection is electric... but in the immersive days that follow, their feelings for each other will give way to choices that pit family duty against personal happiness.

Hopeless-Colleen Hoover-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐✨

I LOVE everything by Colleen Hoover! This book didn't have a hold time on the library app, so I decided to read it while waiting for others that I had on hold. All of Hoover's books are so different, but I find myself so enthralled with every book of hers that I read!

This book is written all from the Sky's perspective. There are a few flashback chapters from her perspective that really keep the story interesting, but you don't know why until the end.

The first half was good, but felt very "young adult romance". Sometimes I like reading books like that because they're easier to read and don't require much concentration. Around the halfway point, the book takes a dramatic turn and one the characters doesn't have the motives you expect them to have! This book was so suspenseful and had twists and turns that came out of nowhere!

I gave this book 4.5/5 stars, because I wasn't as interested in the beginning as I would've liked, but the second half... man the second half GOT ME. Great book!

Pieces of Her-Karen Slaughter-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐✨

I chose this book because it was a thriller that is soon coming to Netflix. Laura's daughter, Andrea, thought she knew everything there was to know about her mother. Then an act of violence occurs in the mall and Laura acts different than anyone ever expected. It turns out that before Laura was... LAURA, she was a totally different person.

Throughout the book, Andrea is determined to find out who her mother truly is and puts out to follow all of the breadcrumbs that were left over from Laura's past life. Andrea finds herself in danger a few times on the quest to uncover the secrets of her mother.

Each Chapter alternates from past and present and as each chapter ends, you're left wondering what will happen next. I liked this book, but struggled to remain as engaged as I had hoped because I found that there was too much "fluff". Regardless, it was a great story and I loved the uncovering of the mystery.

The Silent Patient- Alex Michaelides-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book totally lived up to the hype for me! I read it in two days, which is quite a bit faster than I typically read books. Granted, it was beautiful outside so I just wanted to sit outside and enjoy the weather with a good book.

This book is written from Theo, a psychotherapist's, perspective. Theo is trying his hardest to get Alicia to tell her story about why she murdered her husband, but it's been quite a struggle seeing as Alicia hasn't spoken since the event occurred.

It really gets exciting when we get to the chapters that are from Alicia's journal which will uncover more and more information for us.

I loved this book because it didn't just have the "main" mystery, it also had a few other mysteries worked into it that also were very gripping.

This story takes you on so many twists and turns and the ending is very unexpected, but I loved it! Easy to sit down and dive in and the chapters are shorter that you can read while you have a few spare minutes, which I always love!
